Call Out for Musicians
Live Music Now is looking to recruit new musicians in the South West of England
Live Music Now is a UK-wide initiative, created by Yehudi Menuhin and Ian Stoutzker in 1977. Every year, their musicians deliver thousands of interactive music programmes in care homes and hospitals, and a range of community and healthcare settings. They also work in special schools, where music can make a huge difference to the lives of children and their families. Their specialist support and training provides young musicians with skills and employment at the start of their professional careers, across all genres of music.
They are now looking for new musicians at the start of their professional careers to apply for support with training and paid performances, working with diverse audiences who do not normally have access to high quality live music:
"We’re looking for brilliant artists, regardless of instrument or genre of music, who are looking to develop themselves professionally, and who have that spark and passion to share their music with a wider audience of older people and children with special needs."
Acceptance onto the scheme is by audition. To apply, musicians should first complete an expression of interest form on the Live Music Now website. They will then receive further information and an application form.
