Charlie Dore & Michele Stodart - An Unlikely Magic Happens - The 100 Miles Tour
At first glance the combination of an award-winning bassist, singer & songwriter for the iconic indie rock-pop band The Magic Numbers and a multi hit-writer-singer-actor-improviser, known as ‘The English McGarrigle’ seems an unlikely one. However, once Charlie Dore and Michele Stodart met up they realised there was an undeniable musical empathy that needed to be channeled.
Their first collaboration “A Hundred Miles of Nothing” for Charlie’s 2020 award-winning Like Animals album drew praise from The Independent, R&R Magazine, Folk Radio UK , Fatea Magazine and airplay on national radio including BBC Radio 2 & BBC Scotland.
Both Michele and Charlie are multi instrumentalists and have chalked up a good few solo albums between them so for their first tour they’ll not only be accompanying each other on their individual material and creating totally new arrangements, but also premiering four brand new co-written songs as yet unrecorded. These are definely box-fresh and not to be missed.
