Darby Sabin was born and raised in the foothills of Western Maine (USA) and this scenery can clearly be heard in the country-rock inflections of her music. 

Her latest release ‘Throne of Thorns’ is a 5-track EP of contemplative and personal song writing. 

Darby sings every note from her soul, at times sweet and cute, at times worn with heartbreak and at times as big a mountain. Always with clever, heartfelt lyrics and usually building to a soaring melismatic vocal flight of emotion. 

The arrangements tend to be underpinned by a subtle acoustic guitar rhythm, punctuated by slightly clunky piano. At times this mix is rocked by a raucous, overdriven electric blues guitar and a driving drum line. Overall, there is plenty of texture to enjoy. 

Darby Sabin has performed extensively across the USA including some major festivals. And in November 2022 embarked on her first European tour, taking her original songs to Sweden, Germany and Spain. With this strong EP under her belt and her growing popularity in the USA, it will be exciting to see how she continues to break into the European market.
