Clare Friel, Conor Connolly, Marty Barry and Cathal Ó Curráin
IMDL are delighted to present this ensemble that brings together some of the brightest individual talents in the Irish traditional music scene today. Featuring two recent TG4 Gradam Ceoil awardees Clare Friel (fiddle) and Conor Connolly (accordion) with multi-instrumentalists/vocalists Marty Barry and Cathal Ó Curráin. All of the artists have regularly performed together in various combinations although this is the first time they will have appeared as a four-piece.

Members of The Thatch Céilí Band (with Camden Set Dancers)
Four original members of the legendary Thatch Céilí Band (winners of the All Ireland Fleadh in 1985 and 1986): John Bowe (accordion), Paul Gallagher (flute), Mick O’Connor (banjo) and Adrian Bourke (fiddle) will be joined by Peter McAlinden (piano) to bring us beautiful sounds from 1970s and 80s London – music which in turn inspired an entire generation of new Irish musicians in the capital city. The Thatch as they are fondly known will be joined on stage by the Camden Set Dancers for a demonstration set.

The Trad Gathering
IMDL’s youth project, The Trad Gathering, presents an ensemble of today’s great young London Irish musicians, together to perform music from the great Offaly accordionist, John Bowe. Led by Karen Ryan (fiddle) and Pete Quinn (piano), this arrangement of John’s music was first performed by the group earlier this year in Trafalgar Square as part of the Mayor of London’s St Patrick’s Festival celebrations.
