Louis Swanepoel Album Release

Louis Swanepoel - Headache

Louis Swanepoel is a 17 year old independent musician from Newcastle. He has been recording songs in his bedroom using just GarageBand and an old acoustic guitar. He describes his songwriting as "coming from a place of frustration, atmosphere and certain strong feelings that feel good to be shared, almost like therapy" and says that in a way most of the songs have almost written themselves because of how good it feels to get something off his chest through music.

Louis´ favourite song on the album is Girl on the Corner because it means the most to him (although it was the fastest to write!). Another favourite is Butterflies - meant to reflect a house party and that sensation that even though you´re smiling and don’t want to leave, you’re not enjoying yourself.

The name of the album is something that bothered Louis alot because of "how easy it is to judge a book by its cover" and how much he felt that it mattered. In fact it bothered him so much that it gave him a headache so he just called it that.

Louis says that "It makes me feel lucky that I can express myself and share it with so many people using the internet and the next album I´m making will be more about the internet. My influences are people like Crywank and Elliot Smith."

You can find Louis on most platforms (including YouTube, Deezer and Instagram). Headache is available through Spotify and Apple Music
