Owen Ralph - IMPRINT album launch
Greenwoodside present folk singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Owen Ralph - launching his ambitious new album "Imprint" live at The Harrison
Take a selection of folksongs, broadside ballads and art songs. Pair them with strings, woodwind and a thumping drum beat, sprinkle some synthesisers over the top for good measure, and you have Imprint, the new album from composer and multi-instrumentalist Owen Ralph.
With a sound compared by Folk London to artists like Home Service, Brass Monkey, Bellowhead and Eliza Carthy, Imprint sees Owen continue to utilise dramatic orchestrations to reinterpret songs from times past which explore some moments in life that leave their mark on us.
Compressing the arrangements into something that can fit on a stage for this performance, Abi Munson (flute) and Kye Voce (fiddle/guitar) join Owen to showcase the album as a trio, alongside tracks from his two EPs, From Ella Mary Leather and Chamber Folk.
