Help save The Harrison Pub and Grassroots Live Music Venue!

Beloved venue in Covid rent court case.

For the past 18 years The Harrison in King´s Cross has served the tastiest food and the best drink and hosted some of the finest intimate Folk and Roots concerts in London.

Shockingly they have just received a court arbitration judgement ordering them to pay their landlord the FULL RENT for the entire Covid period. This includes all the time that the venue was closed under Lockdown, coming to a total of £99,000.

Obviously, this is a devastating and incomprehensible judgement, which bankrupts the business and, as a Sole Trader, owner Paul Michelmore personally. On examination of the judgement, it is littered with errors, ignored evidence and unsubstantiated conclusions. It is so far off the mark that it raises big questions over the competence and / or independence of the arbitrator. To save The Harrison and everything Paul and his team have built over the past 18 years, there must be an appeal against the judgement.

This will cost between £5k and £10k in legal fees.

Due to a huge amount of hard work from the staff, the pub survived the pandemic and is now trading well, but is still paying off sizeable debts. So to be able to fund the legal appeal and save The Harrison, they are calling on the help of customers and friends, old and new.
