The Bells of Christmas - Skinner & T´witch

The Bells of Christmas - Skinner & T´witch

New EP from Skinner & T´witch,´The Bells of Christmas´, to be launched on December 3rd at HEART in Leeds

Skinner & T’witch are really very excited about the forthcoming release of their new Christmas EP, ‘The Bells of Christmas’.

‘The Bells of Christmas’ combines wicked satire with lyrical passion, and brings something different to the seasonal turntable.

There’s ‘The Drinking Song’, a rowdy, sing-along bierkeller song, and the biting satire of ‘I Don’t Want An IPad (I Just Want World Peace)’ or ‘Santa, Teach the World to Fly’.

For more lyrical, reflective moments, the collection builds to ‘The World Carol’, a haunting adaptation of the Medieval English Coventry Carol, with a strong message for world peace.

‘The Bells of Christmas’ will be available to download/purchase via the Skinner & T’witch website from December 3rd: www.skinnerandtwitch.com

‘The Bells of Christmas’ includes performances from Hugh Bradley (bass); John Arnesen (drums); Chris Parkinson (piano accordion); Mike Jordan (guitar); Pete Denton (tuba); Sue Pope (euphonium); and Barry Pope (trumpet).

Skinner & T´witch are very much looking forward to launching ‘The Bells of Christmas’ at Tuesday Night Live at the HEART Centre, Bennett Rd, Headingley, Leeds LS6 3HN on Tuesday, December 3rd, from 8pm.

Skinner & T’witch will be supported on the launch night by Pete Denton’s brass ensemble, who will be playing some festive numbers. Come on down (if you’re in the area) for a mince pie, some festive cheer, and a bit of fun...

Combining folk, flamenco and theatre-style songs, Skinner & T’witch are a Leeds-based, original duo who have toured widely across the UK and beyond, including a recent tour of Australia. Next year they return to the US. Skinner & T’witch’s music and live performance draws on music-hall and vaudeville traditions. They have been described as ‘a pair of comic geniuses’ by The Living Tradition. ‘The Bells of Christmas’ EP is Skinner & T’witch’s fourth album, with their fifth, folk-rock style album, ‘The Songcatcher’, in the pipeline for next summer.
