The Salts - The Trafalgar Way Tour

The Salts - The Trafalgar Way Tour

In November The Salts will be performing along The Trafalgar Way, raising money for The Trafalgar Way (1805 Club) and Jubilee Sailing Trust!

The Trafalgar Way is the name given to the historic route used to carry dispatches taking news of the Battle of Trafalgar overland from Falmouth to the Admiralty in London. The message of November 1805 was carried by Lt. Lapenotiere of HMS Pickle. He docked in Falmouth after 9 harrowing days at sea and raced to London, carrying his epic news of victory in battle and of the tragic death of Lord Nelson. Since 2005, 39 plaques have been erected along his route to mark the journey taken by that historic message. They are located on inns and other roadside locations, as close as possible to the coaching inns of the time.

This November, The Salts will follow this same route, stopping to perform a song at each of the 39 plaques, raising money for The Trafalgar Way (1805 Club) and The Jubilee Sailing Trust, an inclusive charity that changes lives through adventure and exploration.

In addition, The Salts will play concerts in Falmouth, Exeter and Blandford, culminating with a “Pickle Night” celebratory concert on Monday 6th November in the palatial Georgian splendour of 116 Pall Mall, close to The Admiralty and Trafalgar Square.

Friday 3rd November - The ´Front, Falmouth

Saturday 4th November - Exeter Phoenix

Sunday 5th November - Blandford Forum Corn Exchange

Monday 6th November - “Pickle Night” Celebration Concert, 116 Pall Mall, London
