Woodburner at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden

Woodburner at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden

Woodburner launches their 7th annual weekly outdoor gig series at the popular Dalston Eastern Curve Garden:

A curated programme bursting with the freshest new sounds and emerging talent, carefully hand-picked by London’s folk, jazz & world music promoters

"Best live music on a Tuesday night in London! Amazing vibe too - once you discover it you cannot stop going back." Audience member, 2017

Woodburner have been running unique live music events in unorthodox spaces since 2010. They have promoted a huge number of acts, from established names such as Johnny Flynn and Nick Mulvey, to a huge array of fascinating, up-and-coming talent. However, they are best known for their weekly outdoor summer festival at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden. This community space provides Woodburner with an opportunity for Londoners to experience a festival atmosphere within the city, every week over four months. Until the final date at the end of September, the audience can experience the glorious British summer whilst enjoying the delights of exquisite home-made pizza, local craft beer and delicious hot drinks when the nights start to get a little cooler.

Artistic Director Theo Bard says: "It’s an honour to bring live music to the Curve Garden each year, and wonderful to see the artists and audience thrive in such a warm and friendly environment. 2019 is looking to be an extraordinary year for us, with a programme full of cutting-edge acts and talented musicians coming to the stage."

Woodburner prides themselves on showcasing the UK’s hottest and freshest talent, and their 2019 programme certainly doesn’t disappoint. The opening night welcomes love-jazz collective The Dylema Collective who bring with them electronic RnB artist Alxndr London, blissed out hip hop from Lexi Amor & the irresistible soul vocals of Boadi. This line-up perfectly represents what Woodburner aim to do every week at the Curve: to put together a programme that challenges, entertains and unites its’ audience.

The June programme also features trail-blazers such as Dizraeli, PYJAEN, and The Breath, while confirmed acts for the rest of the summer include headliners Mesadorm, Mega, Roscius, Cocos Lovers, and Faith Mussa, with support from acts such as Alice Zawadzki, Fran&Flora, Intaya & Silvertongue who are also carving out their own space in the London music scene.
Full lineups for July, August and September will be released on the Woodburner website

Every artist who performs at the event shoots a high-quality live music video on the day of their performance at the Curve Garden, produced by filmmaker Joe Harvey (Raygun Films, MMFilmCo). These videos capture the talent and diversity of more than 50 acts that perform each summer, providing vital content to artists at every stage of their journey, and opening Woodburner up to a community beyond those who attend the events. This sense of community is crucial to Woodburner’s ethos, in bringing artists and audience together in a celebration of live music.
